Carol Zizzo Tom and Denise's creation for our celebration
Carol
David Zizzo 4 String IPA was brewed and labeled specially to commemorate our amazing Grandpa Z. Brewed (with hope) to show as much craft as he had with his banjo and as much love and care as he had for his family. Whether he was at the head of the joke or at the butt of the joke, he displayed a genuine smile or laughter to go with it. From my early memories of the Big Dinka Dinka to the final memories, it was all smiles and laughter. I believe that quality is what gave him the extended run of time here with us that I don’t think anyone could have predicted with the odds stacked against him. That has carried on to now a 4th generation and with risk of copyright infringement “for that we thank you....this ones for you”
Denise Zizzo lil David brewed and labelled this beer in honor of Grandpa.
The greatest things in life are not things.
Carol's Journaling of Memories this past two weeks. Our family has identified with our Italian roots all of our lives — even though we’re only 25% Sicilian and not Italian at all. We inherited and lived our family history of overcoming adversity and honoring family. My dad was shaped by the racism our family experienced as immigrants after they di...
Carol's invitation to all of you. We would have been together today. Tom and Denise put considerable energy into making their property ready for a Celebration of Life for our dad. Tables and appropriate decorations, tents in case it rained, grooming the fields and figuring out how to gather us all. Little David was securing porta potties He was a...

Lil Dave Z
I always felt welcomed and loved by all of the Zizzos. And your Dad was at the heart of that. I have a vivid memory of my first meeting of the Zizzo clan in (was it?) Bass Lake. It was Easter and there was a family game going on. Turns out Uncle Jim had a strong sense of fairness and was not sure rules were being followed. (There may have bee...

Uncle Jim was my mom's brother and one of my favorite, fun, crazy, and loving Uncles. He was someone I could always turn to for an opinion or advise, and he gave it willingly. My memories included going to his house in Gilroy during summer break and getting to "run around" after dark, walking over the Rexall Pharmacy, and eating anything we wante...
Jim Zizzo was many things. Father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, community leader, banjo player, story teller, all around great guy. For me he was Uncle Jim and God Father. He knew me from the time I was born. I will always know him and will always be grateful for that. Some of my earliest memories involve him. I was a big fan of...
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to harvest; A time to hurt, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast aw...
With Father’s Day around the corner, I felt it was time I contribute to this page to honor probably one on the greatest people who has impacted my life - Dad, who I affectionately called “Jimmy”. I never had a father figure growing up so I never felt there was a real loss there. At this stage, I am an adult - but when Jimmy entered our family’s...
To a man of strength and compassion, a devoted father with a loving and generous heart. You will always be an inspiration to me. Happy Birthday. Miss you and love you.
