    Celebrating the life of

    Hermione Stark

    12 Dec 1989 - 23 Aug 2020

On Sunday, August 23, 2020, the world grew dimmer with the untimely passing of Hermione Matilda Stark in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 30. Hermione enjoyed music, literature, and film, and she passionately advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, sexual autonomy, and neurodiverse inclusivity. She shared the best of herself with the world through online fora and communities centered around these and other subjects, leaving an indelible imprint on many souls along the way. An avid reader with an irreverent sense of humor and pockets of practical knowledge about seemingly all topics, Hermione lit up lives the world over with her unique perspective and wit. Her warm, empathetic spirit shone brightly, illuminating the best in all those lucky enough to occupy her orbit. She was a born protector of the vulnerable, and her fierce loyalty to her loved ones meant that, in Hermione, one found that oft-coveted rarity: a friend forever. This obituary is crafted on behalf of Hermione’s incredibly vast online social circle and is printed here with the blessing of her mother, Shellie Nalevayko of Saginaw, Michigan. She is survived and celebrated by confidantes, collaborators, sestras, and other loved ones across the globe, including but certainly not limited to Charlotte Fry of Adlington, UK; Luna Soleil of Brooklyn, New York, USA; Carissa Coslow of Seattle, Washington, USA and Rebecca Huvard of Seattle, Washington, USA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Hermione’s memory to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
