Sree Kode Dharani: Gunu aunty can only be remembered as a person with a smile. She was always known as a well wisher of the extended family. She would be update on everyone’s activities. Inspite of the challenges she faced in life she ensured her children studied well. She brought beautiful Sandya akka to see us before she went to the US for higher studies. Ensured that the children stayed connected to the extended family. Gunu aunty I guess never had an ego - she kept in touch with all the cousins and visited all regularly. She was a silent observer in all functions , watching all our actions. Then she would interact with every person and enquire about their well-being with genuine interest My mother had shared many instances about Gunu aunty when she was a lecturer in Queen Mary’s college. She remembered and told me that the full college was amazed at her strength as she would always walk fast and upright even till a few days before Sandhya akka was born. She was ahead of her times, modern but yet had strong values. One of the most positive woman in the family, like her mother and my nanamma. I wish I had spent more time with her. We took them all for granted. You will be with us always
