A life which began on December 30th in 1930 and sadly ended on July 3rd, 2013. Almost 83 memorable years, so well lived and which have left so many wonderful memories for his family, who are already very much missing his presence, as are those who counted Harry as a friend. What an amazing life Harry led! He achieved in life what most of us aspire to achieve – a life rich in love, happiness and family – and for Harry, more than his fair share of adventures along the way. This is not to say it was without its challenges, the death of his beloved Mary in November of 2000 is testament to that, but the good times definitely outweighed the bad, and one thing is for sure, Harry knew how to make the most of each and every day he was given on this earth. His daughter Carol, learnt many lessons from her Dad – like the importance of family, a sense of independence, to be resilient, to stand up for what you believe in and what you believe is right. But he didn’t just do this by words, he did it by his example and surely this is the greatest gift a father can give his children. When it came to the grandchildren Kyla and Stephen and the great grandchildren Lisa, Sarah, Alysha, Jayden and Joel – they too were taught many lessons by their much loved Granda, who played a very strong role in many of their lives. Many of these learnings no doubt came from one of the many stories that Harry shared. And you’ll all know how Harry was such a gifted story teller and would regale anyone who would listen with stories on all sorts of topics! From the latest sports results to his many international travels. Or with tales of his beloved Mary and their Navy days back in the UK. Formerly of Coventry, Granton(Edinburgh), Fordon, South Perth, Queens Park, Kardinya and most recently of Safety Bay. This true English gentleman will be sadly missed by those who knew him. Watching Judge Judy with a cuppa, "Just to pass the time" till we meet again.
