Gary Coates

Gary L. Coates passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2022, due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was born October 8th, 1945, in Berkeley, California. However, his early ancestors traveled to Mount Hood, Oregon by wagon train where his mother, Virginia Ebi, grew up on the family orchard. Gary always considered this area his special place. He graduated from California State University, Northridge and immediately started his own marketing company with a friend/partner. His success brought him an offer to join Sanford R. Goodkin Research Corporation to conduct market research studies and act as a consultant in development opportunities. A few years later was offered a position with a Canadian Development Company who positioned him in Boca Raton, Florida as President of their Florida properties, but he would eventually embark on his own once again with the creation of PMA (positive mental attitude) Sales Group, Inc. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking, cycling and spent hours on his boat. He also competed in local road races as well as participating in many marathons. He will be greatly missed and remembered not only for his never give up attitude, but his support and selflessness for the family he loved so much. He is survived by his wife Robin, children Christopher, Catherine and Shannon (Josh Stout), his cousin Cari Reuter (Jim Fagan), his daughter Lori (deceased first wife, Jayne Garrett), his granddaughter Amber (Dylan Sydow), great grandson Gunner Sydow and step great granddaughter Krissy Sydow. His wishes to donate physically to Parkinson's Brain Research was with his enduring optimism that a cure would be realized sometime in the near future. We all love you so much, Gary!
