So many memories, some of them amazing and wonderful, some of them sad. It is very difficult to condense into just a few but some fond ones I have are: Building a wooden go-kart together in the garage when I was 6/7, riding a snow mobile together in Colorado when I was 10/11, learning to ride a scooter in Tokyo, seeing his love for my daughter Josi...
Olga Froonova Dear Martina and Emma, our hearts are with you. We will remember Chris and his wicked sense of humour, his sensitivity and love for Czech! He was always in good spirit, enjoying life to the fullest!

My first memory of meeting Chris was in your house in Chiswick. Always welcoming me with open arms and smile on his face. This was during the time when Eminka was little and went to nursery at the charity. That is when we first met. Will miss you Chris xxx

Mr Chris was a wonderful friend of my parents, I will miss him telling me to not scrape my teeth against my fork during dinner. I'll miss you so much, thank you for being my sister's dad xx

Andrew Thompson Milan, Italy February 8th, 2021. I was lucky to know Chris for nearly 37 years, as a close friend; our lives intertwined in an extraordinary way through a series of amazing coincidences. A long friendship, grief is love and I pray for Chris, Martina and Emma. On the professional front, let us start at the beginning. When I joined ICI Pharma in 1984 as a graduate trainee, Chris was already there, and he was the undisputed star of the graduate scheme. He was in fact chosen to “detail” i.e., play Medical Rep. to Sir John Harvey Jones the Chairman , when ICI had the first PC for visiting doctors. Later we both worked at Glaxo and Glaxo Wellcome , Chris also at GSK. We met in Japan 1997 and later Morocco during his postings. Much later, when Chris set up his Consultancy business, he generously helped me to set up mine in 2014. The most extraordinary coincidence was in 1994, Chris from Glaxo Corporate and myself from Glaxo Russia attended a Marketing Workshop in Warsaw, with other colleagues from the region. At the dinner in the reconstructed old town on the first night, when we walked in the restaurant, Martina was there and at the same table- so I was physically present when they met for the first time. Fast forward I attended their wedding in the Czech Republic in 1997. Another bizarre turn of events was when Chris called me and said, “we are moving to Sudbury, probably you have never heard of the place.” “Actually Chris, my parents live in Sudbury”, so that set of another series of meetings in Suffolk. Including Chris taking me shooting. Martina 40th we celebrated in the Mill Hotel, Sudbury. Of course, my first experience of Chris in Hospital was in Ipswich, in 2015, where his indifference to the challenges of the treatment and uncomplaining attitude, I found remarkable back then. Chris, Martina and Emma visited us in 2000 in Barcelona, Emma is exactly the same age as my daughter Carmen by a few weeks, Chris was always laughing later as there were no lights in the loft bedroom! As a friend, we had very good times and unbelievably bad times both of us in these long years- Chris listened and was non-judgmental, his big brain could analyse situations quickly, but he was also firm when he had to be. I will miss him terribly. Andrew
