Dr. Okezie Kemjika-Okechukwu Aguwa was born to Dr. Okechukwu Cornelius Aguwa and Dr. Margaret Ijeoma Aguwa on March 4th 1985 in Lansing Michigan. He is the last born of three boys. His older brothers are Mr. Ikenna Chukwudi-Okechukwu Aguwa, and Mr. Okenwa Chikezie-Okechukwu Aguwa. Married to LeeAnn Marie Aguwa on November 21, 2015. Son: Dominick Kemjika Aguwa- born May 21, 2018. Okezie grew up on Heather drive in East Lansing until he was 4 years old and then moved to Okemos Michigan in the summer of 1989 along with his family. He attended Hiawatha Elementary school along with his brothers in Okemos. While in elementary school, Okezie decided that he would become a doctor when he grew up. The strong bond Okezie had with his mother influenced his decision to pursue the medical field. He would often ask his Mother questions about medicine and look through some of the medical books that were in the house with fascination. He strived to perform well in academics early on and received excellent grades throughout Elementary and Middle Schools. He played a variety of sports like Soccer, Basketball and Football on teams with his friends. While in elementary school, Okezie also participated in swimming, piano, and violin. He attended Kinawa Middle School in Okemos and moved on to Okemos High School. Adolescent Years: Okezie attended Okemos High School from the 9th to 12th grade. In high school, Okezie achieved academic excellence and participated in Football, and Track and Field at a high level. He received several awards and certificates for his accomplishments as a student and student athlete. Okezie took classes on how to speak Spanish in high school and got to the point where he was semi-fluent in speaking the language. He was a heavily recruited by colleges and universities to play football and track and received academic accolades for his academics. He obtained letters in Track and Field as well as in Football, setting many Athletic records, some yet to be broken.
