colin casto Nany loved playing piano and would indulge her lucky grandkids with her music. Even as her memory lost some of its definition, she always remembered the words to some of her favorite songs, like "Que Sera" and "You Are My Sunshine".

colin casto Nany and her Mountain Women! Nany told us once that when she starting hiking in the southwest in the early 60's, outdoor gear manufacturers didn't make boots and other gear for women, so she had to make do with men's gear! I always thought that (along with the idea of exploring the southwest in that time period) was so neat! No phones, rugged roads, men's boots, and a bunch of friends exploring the wonders of the world.
colin casto I don't remember much from this age, but I definitely remember exploring the southwest with Nany & Baba, and I particularly remember being in awe of the cliff dwellings at Bandolier and Mesa Verde. Their love for adventure was generously imparted on us, and Nany will be in our hearts as we continue her mountain-climbing, laughing-and-learning, and new-people-meeting in our future adventures.
