Family and friends
We are creating this memorial site for Debbie so that we all have the opportunity to come together to share our stories about this amazing woman. There will not be a service- honoring the family's wishes and respecting current Covid-19 restrictions.

Join MemoriesLiz Stires Debbie was a huge force of nature, a no bull, tell it like it is, funny as heck generous soul. DJ and Deb were the corner stone of the village it took to raise my son Zack and his mom through the earliest minutes and days of his life. I can only hope the next world gives Debbie half as much love as she gave this one. God speed Debbie!
Susan K Rest In Peace, Deb! We had a friendship that spanned 40 years, although sometimes We didn’t see each other for months, and sometimes, years. Despite that we had a lot of laughs, a lot of good times, a lot of happy memories made, and for that I am grateful. I am happy that she is no longer carrying a difficult burden and I really do wish for her that she rest, mind, body and soul, in peace.
joanne santner In attempting to write Deb's obituary, I really am at a loss for words. I am hoping that some others of her friends and family can add to this memorial to share the large narrative of her full life. She was a wife, a sister, an auntie, and a friend. She loved her home, her pets, her travels, and her adventures. She loved all of nature- was equally at home in the snowy mountains as she was on the sandy beaches. She loved to dance- always grabbing DJ whenever a slow, sweet song played or jumping into a country line dance or 2 step. She loved to live along the edges- putting her heart and soul into whatever she did -- biking, hiking, camping, skiing, and snorkeling. She was passionate about her profession- helping physically disabled people as an occupational therapist. She lived her life in recovery and kept those principles to the end Her last few years were a source of pain as she was diagnosed with MS and then needed a number of surgeries on her back, hips, and spine. She was diagnosed with breast cancer from which she did recover. When a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer was made- she had radiation and chemotherapy but was not able to bounce back from this one and slowly became bedridden and needed full-time assistance. Her having to be isolated due to Covid-19 during this year was just heartbreaking. DJ had little ability to get support or relax outside their home and Debbie could not have her friends and family next to her in this transition While I am sorry to have had her leave us, I knew that her staying in that body was only going to be a source of pain for her. So- we said goodbye to that part of her and know in our hearts- that she is now free to be spirit and her essence will live among us forever
