David Wayne Payne

David Wayne Payne of Moscow, Ohio, was born June 29, 1967, in Detroit, Michigan, to Clyde Edward Payne and Cheryl Lee Payne (née Lynch). He passed away on November 19, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio (Hospice). He was preceded in death by both of his loving parents and a one-of-a-kind set of grandparents who worshiped him — especially his maternal grandmother, Ruth Lynch, aka Maggie. He was also preceded by several aunts and uncles who were more like his best friends. He is survived by his daughters, Amber Payne and Autumn Payne (Pete); four grandchildren; his companion Tammy of 14 years; sister Dawn Bowling; brothers Scott Payne (Trisha) and Sean Payne (Laurie); and sister Heather Williams (Matthew). Several nieces and nephews loved him as much as he loved them. David was a one-of-a-kind soul. When he arrived, so did the party. With a Miller Lite in one hand, anyone’s guess what was going to be in the other, a fresh cigarette that never seemed to burn out. Always armed with jokes and unfiltered truth bombs. Everyone knew if he was there, there was never going to be a dull moment. Even if you wanted to hide your face, because his shock value was full throttle. It didn’t matter if it was a toddler’s birthday party or an impromptu night at the bar — he showed up to show out and have a good time. He loved his circle, and they loved him. The mold was broken when they made that one, and there will always be something missing. Rest easy and have fun getting Jimmy all worked up and hollering because his poker skills can’t hang.
