David Frost

Sir David Paradine Frost, OBE, was an English journalist, comedian, writer, media personality and television host who passed away August 31, 2013 at the age of 74 due to a heart attack. He was known for his television interviews with political figures. He was the only person to have interviewed seven U.S. presidents in office between 1969 and 2008. Born 1939 in Tenterden, Kent, England, he studied at Gonville and Caius College and Cambridge University with a degree in English. Frost was chosen in 1962 to host the highly successful satirical program “The Week That Was” which ran for 18 months. In 1969 he hosted the “David Frost Show” which had such guests such as John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Later in his life, in 1983, he was one of the “Famous Five” who launched ITV's breakfast station TV-AM and then ten years later in 1993 he hosted the show “Breakfast with David Frost” which proved successful as well.
