    David Carradine

    David Carradine born John Arthur Carradine, was an American actor and martial artist who passed away tragically at the age of 72. He was mostly known for his leading role in the 1970s television series Kung Fu. His work, including stage, television and cinema, was over forty years long. Born 1936 in Hollywood, California, he attended Oakland Junior College for a year before transferring to San Francisco State College where he studied drama and music theory. Carradine was inducted into the United States Army in 1960 and served for two years. In 1963, he made his television debut on an episode of "Armstrong Circle Theatre" and the next year he made his feature film debut in "Taggart." In 1972, he found the role that made him famous and was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award in the TV series, "Kung Fu" which ran for three years.
