David Brockie

David Brockie was a musician and lead vocalist who passed away tragically on March 23, 2014 at the age of 50. He is most known for being one of the founding members of the costumed metal band Gwar. He was also known as his onstage alter-ego Oderus Urungus. He also performed as a bassist and lead singer in bands such as Death Piggy, X-Cops, and the Dave Brockie Experience (DBX). Born August 30, 1963 in Ottawa, Ontario, Brockie founded the metal band Gwar who released fifteen albums and two compilation albums and nine singles. In the 1992 long music video “Gwar: Phallus in Wonderland” Brockie portrayed Oderus Urungus and was nominated for a Grammy for his efforts. He also appeared in 1995's movie “Empire Records.” According to the character's backstory,[2] Oderus Urungus is 50 billion years old, and was assembled on a planet called Scumdogia in "Syntho Womb 5" after pieces of his moldy war frame were found scattered throughout the galaxy.
