Felina Holmgren Once upon a time in Hong Kong. Dan and Virginia are no longer with us but they will not be forgotten for all they had shared and given in life of themselves. Blessed to have been their friends.
Kevin Holmgren Such great memories with Dan over the years like this one...enjoying a nice dinner over @ Julian & Jub’s house. In addition to being a friend, Dan was a great mentor and I will greatly miss his words of wisdom and encouragement.

Amy Bardin Kaspar Danny “Dan” Ray Bardin passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the age of 70 surrounded by his three loving children, Amy, April and Josh. Dan was born to JV and Betty Bardin on September 27, 1950 in Whittier, California. As a child, Dan’s fondest memories growing up in East Whittier included “living in a great neighborhood with lots of friends, playing baseball and basketball,” hanging out with his dog Butch and working on cars with his Dad. Shortly after graduating from Sierra High School, he met his future wife Virginia Schindewolf. Dan was always ambitious, hard working and an optimist. He worked nights at Whittier Union High School as a Janitor to put himself through college, earning a degree from Cal State Fullerton and Whittier College. After graduation, he taught elementary, junior high and coached basketball, baseball and football. He left teaching and pursued a career with Allstate Insurance. His 17 years with Allstate moved the family from California to New Mexico to Texas, but it also gave him lifelong friendships and prepared him for the what was to come. In 1995, Dan was given the opportunity to move abroad. Living in both Hong Kong and Thailand, the family embraced their new surroundings, exploring and taking in all that Asia had to offer. Even though Dan left teaching years earlier, many still looked to him as a coach, leader and mentor. At the age of 62, Dan was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. He retired and returned to the US the following year. He spent his time golfing, having weekly family dinners and cheering on the grandkids at their baseball and soccer games. He enjoyed reminiscing about his travels and the early days with Virginia, eating Mexican food, shopping with Amy, spending time with friends, having April cook for him, shooting pool with Josh and could be found many evenings with a glass of red wine in hand. He always said, “Life is very short, enjoy everyday” and that is what exactly what he did. A celebration of life will be held in CA in July. More details to come later. Thank you for your friendship, support, respect and love for this wonderful man. Amy Bardin Kaspar Dan loved his grandkids and family💕
I was one of Dan's first Assistant Managers when he first came to Dallas. He truly was one of the best! Dan spent a lot of time knowing each member of his team, and how to motivate them based on what was important to them. I remember the family very well, and the Saturday mornings when the kids came into the region with him. He was a very pro...
My name is Alice and I am a friend of your mom and Dad in Hong Kong. Virginia and I were on the same tennis team at the American Club hong kong for many years. She was a fierce competitor and loyal friend. Your dad was a good man and speak highly of all his grandkids and kids the last few times I saw him in Hong Kong. We somehow lost touch when he...
