Francesca Ayson-Mendoza DANTE AHORRO: It’s been both an honor and privilege to call you Mommy for roughly 17 years. Four adjectives appropriately described my mother-in-law; religious, family-focused, generous and quite gregarious. I vividly remember the first gift Mom gave after marrying her favorite daughter (sorry Monette and Suzzete), a beautiful rosary. Though coming out of a Catholic university, sad to say but I don’t know how to use it. Believing naively to the notions that as long as I do not Kill, Rape, Pillage and Burn (old Viking’s Code ), free pass to heaven is assured. Boy...associating with the Maligs for a very short time convinced me I was dead wrong. Mom is so religious, we’re reciting the rosary on the way to Pampanga. I always feel like a heathen in the car. Every time we come for a visit from California, I have to bring a lot of clothes because surely we’re going to mass daily at Sanville. Being an ex-sailor I find it very difficult to control my cursing. Next to Godliness, family is A nos 1 to Mom, tirelessly working for everyone of her children to achieve success and happiness. No need to touch on the caring ways she took care of Dad till the very end. Generosity is like her shadow, always giving to friends, relatives and even my side of the family. Lastly Mom is the friendliest person I have ever met. She has the sweetest smile and kind compliments to all even complete strangers. When we go out shopping, her favorite pastime, it’s not surprising to see her make friends with salespersons, even inviting them to parties at our house. My family will surely miss you Mom but rest easy because your everlasting legacy will live forever in our hearts and minds. Fair winds and gentle waters may accompany you in your journey.

Francesca Ayson-Mendoza Lots of time spent having lunches and dinners out with the immediate family. Thankfully, Tito Lits loves to take pictures and captured every moment!
I've lived with Lola Cora for most of my life. I grew up eating her food which I've enjoyed very much. I remember that she'd regularly have large batches of maja blanca or kutsinta ready for us to eat or give away. I also remember the times I spent in Lolo and Lola's room. I would always go and watch TV there after school and late at night. Whenev...
I will never forget Lola’s cooking. She always enjoyed cooking for everybody in the house. Some of my fondest memories was helping Lola cook sweets and desserts, especially her Maja Blanca as she would always let me eat the ones left over in the pot. She always made sure that we were well-fed and taken care of because she loved us so much. To me, t...
Monette CRUZ This was Mom's 80th birthday...10 years ago. My mom loved having parties as she had so much friends and enjoyed being surrounded by people special to her. She was full of life and was a charmer so people easily warmed up to her. I know just like me a lot of people are saddened by her passing as she's touched the lives of many. I Love You so much and wish I had that one last chance to hug you and kiss you.❤❤😭
I will always remember my lola Cora as someone who has a very big heart as everyone says she is generous, religious, loving and kind hearted. I agree a 100% with all of that. She always puts other people first before herself. I'll miss the food she cooks how she is always happy to see me coming home from school when I used to live in Philippines no...
