Where to start or, more importantly, why start at all? Why should we spend the time and effort to tell the story of Daddy's (Neih/Pa Churchill's) life, and why should anybody take the time to read it? Here are some reasons as to why: Pa Churchill Achu will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle and, most importantly, a father to many. Daddy was a man of principles, intelligence, integrity and class, who placed a great emphasis on his children's education. He was fond of saying "educate yourselves because your looks will fade, but your intelligence will last forever and take you places". He always stressed that a good education is something no one can ever take from you. Growing up, I observed him treat everyone who crossed his path with equal consideration, no favoritism or partiality. He was a very generous man, sometimes to a fault, up until his death. Order and discipline were his motto and most of us probably have a memory or two in which we were the object of said discipline. He also loved being surrounded by friends and family and holidays in the Village, Baforchu, were compulsory. In the midst of our immense grief at his passing, let us take the time to take stock of the many ways, tangible and intangible, that Daddy has touched our lives, take pride in his accomplishments and celebrate his life. I welcome everyone to use this forum to share their memories of and experiences with him over the course of Daddy's life.
