Christopher Reeve
25 Sep 1952 - 10 Oct 2004Christopher Reeve was an American actor, film director, producer, screenwriter, author and activist who passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He is most known for playing the starring role in the “Superman” series of movies. He founded the Christopher Reeve Foundation and also co-founded the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. Born 1952 in New York City, New York, he started studying theater at Cornell University from 1970 to 1973 then he joined Julliard in 1973 and studied there for a year. A year later, in 1975, he auditioned and got a role in the Broadway play, "A Matter of Gravity" playing Katherine Hepburn's grandson. After some small parts in movies and theater, he won the role as “Superman” and became an international star in 1978. He went on to star in all the “Superman” movies thereafter. In 1980, he starred with Jane Seymour in the 1980 romantic fantasy "Somewhere in Time.” Then in 1994, he was elected as a co-president of the Creative Coalition. In 1995 he fell from his horse
