Kimberly Ng Granny loved each one of us dearly and always made time for us. Her yearly visits to Singapore (and our visits back to Penang) were something we looked forward to. We were always excited about the places we would go with her and she never failed to happily go along with whatever we had planned. She celebrated our successes and embraced our flaws. Many of my memories when she stayed with us in Singapore involve her nagging about my baobei and how she would sometimes tag-team with my maternal grandma to try to convince me to give it up. Despite not being able to convince me, she would always laugh it off and tell me it’s ultimately my choice. Nonetheless, it’s always the first thing she notices on her trips to Singapore. 😅 I always admired her for raising 11 children but am so blessed she did because thanks to her and grandpa, I grew up with a very big family (and thinking it was normal as a child). I had so many cousins that my siblings and I could play with. Even though we’ve grown up, we are always happy to see each other at family gatherings. Thank you, Granny, for all the memories. I will miss you greatly. I love you. Love, Kimberly
Melody Ng Granny always held on to me when I was a little girl. She always made sure I could walk steadily and that I was safe. As I grew up, whenever I was around her, I held on to her and made sure she was steady and safe. Whenever she came to Singapore, we'd spend time together by me randomly going to her room to disturb her. I remember always drawing notes for her and teaching her some simple english with my books. And no matter how bad my mandarin was, she still would show great interest in my stories. While we cant be there physically, she'll always be in our hearts. I love you Granny ♡ I hope you are enjoying durian and ice cream in heaven.
