Melinda Ching This photo was taken at the top of Cathedral Ledge during one of my most memorable weekends with Charlie. It was a perfect fall weekend, and both Charlie and I were stoked to climb! We drove up to New Hampshire and camped out at a parking lot near Cannon. In the morning, we were deciding what to climb, and he convinced me to get on some tricky and intimidating climbs - Duet Direct and VMC direct direct (although we bailed on this one because of a wet crack). We had a blast! His psych was so contagious. I remember: around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, we were talking and I was on the fence about doing another climb. He looked at me with a grin and said "what if we do just one more easy one..." And off we went! We ran up Lakeview-and made it to the top just in time to see the sunset and the moon rise. It was such an epic day. Charlie, thank you for all of the joy, energy, and love you brought to this world. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, my friend.
