Celebrating the life of

Bruce Ian Goldsmith

16 Jan 1930 - 11 Sep 2016

Bruce was the beloved husband of Jean and father of John, Robyn and Jill. He was the loving grandfather of Matthew, Chris, Jason, Emma, Mark, Michelle and Nicole. He was also the much loved great grandfather of Indy, Jaxon, Brodie and Jacob. Bruce was born in Hobart and lived much of his life here, except for the fifteen years in Perth, Western Australia, where he devoted much time to his work with the Spastic Children's Association. He was a loving father, grand father and great grandfather, never happier than when spending time with his family. He was accomplished at mathematics and geometry in particular, leading to his early career in draughtsmanship with the Housing Department. His later career was in working for the welfare of spastic children, raising funds for them, in particular as the primary organiser of the Miss Tasmania Quest. He was great sportsman in his early life, retaining a keen interest in cricket and football until the end of his life. He was a great cook, gardener, and photographer, and enjoyed life to the utmost. Bruce was a no nonsense down-to-earth fellow and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
