Brian Naylor

Brian Naylor was an Australian television broadcaster and presenter who tragically passed away at the age of 78 at the Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria. He was famous for his professionalism and for his sign-off, "May your news be good news, and good-night." Born 1931 in Melbourne Australia, in 1958 Naylor joined Melbourne radio station 3DB where he worked as a radio announcer and host of a children's program. He moved that same year to television, moving the children's program, “Swallows Junior,” with him. He appeared as a regular on the station's daytime variety program "Time For Terry" in 1965, even showcasing a young Olivia Newton-John before she was famous. In 1978, he succeeded a retiring newsreader Sir Eric Pearce, Brian Naylor started his career at GTV Channel 9 and worked there until he retired in 1998.
