Celebrating the life of

Brian Doyle

28 Aug 1928 - 27 Sep 2015

Husband of Lorna and father of John (Poorneta), Robert and Barbara. Grandfather of Tony, Jaya, Kate, Ben and Kyle. Great grandfather of Ismail, Hanna and Janali. What a character... Brian will be dearly missed by his family and the many friends he gained during his long life. From his days growing up in Melbourne, and with the passing of his mother during his teens, Brian had to grow up quickly. He headed to sea in the merchant navy and traveled far and wide. It was a chance meeting with Lorna, a flight attendant, that drew him to Sydney to marry and to establish his family and career. Always a foodie, Brian built close friendships over many a dinner party or barbecue and that's where he started to build his repertoire of jokes... and they were good jokes. People still comment on how much fun Brian created with his quick wit and genuine caring for people... he was a gentleman. Friendships were important to Brian and he built them far and wide. From his sea days, starting his family in Sydney, his travels and living overseas, bowls and golf clubs, through to his local church and finally at the Earle Haven community, Brian will be remembered fondly by his many friends. He was always there to help his community and he put his engineering skills to good use. From processing coconuts and water desalination to help people in Tonga, to saving the Helensvale golf course from flooding, Brian was ready and very willing to help. Though in his later years he suffered from Parkinson's Disease, Brian was always positive towards his situation and worked actively through the Parkinson's Queensland Gold Coast branch to assist others also afflicted. The angels in heaven will be enjoying a chuckle...Brian has arrived. The Doyle family asks, that in place of flowers, you consider a donation to Parkinson's Queensland to help find a cure.
