Nelson Reyes A Haiku plus a couplet, a tanka, for Bhanu, a remembrance, when I told her about my coming up boat trip with Betsy in San Diego, California during my high school classmates reunion in September 2014. She gave me a small bottle of small pills she guaranteed to take the edge of anxiety and dizziness. And it did: tanka and she said take this out of the ancient wisdom appeared before me aid to calm fear of sea wave pills to get better be brave May you Rest In Peace my dear friend Bhanu, dear mother of my son-in-law Sunil and loving Grsndma to Kiran and Julian, our beloved grandsons. Also, below is an excerpt from my poem written in January 2017, that touched on the certainty of death and the peace and blessings that come with it in acceptance: A Portal of Graces As sure as life begins twin death is there...
