Introducing to the world our Angel Baby, Azalea JJ Tai. Born on Friday May 23, 2014 at 8:49pm Azalea looked just like a sleeping baby when she came out and we got to deliver and hold her, just as we would if she had been alive. I consider myself extremely blessed to have had the 8 1/2 months with her inside of me and am amazed that I could have helped create something so beautiful and precious. We don’t know and may never know why this happened (we had only seen her a week before, healthy and sucking her thumb at a scan), but will be forever grateful that she chose to be with us, even for such a short time. We may not be able to hold our baby Azalea today, but we are still proud parents who will always keep her alive in our hearts and memories. We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to Dr Sophie Leong, Terri Walsh and the incredible team of midwives at Mitcham private hospital. In our darkest moment the kindness and care that you showed, gave us the strength to carry on. You can also make a donation (on the right hand side) on behalf of Azalea to Heartfelt, a volunteer organization that photographically captures the memories for parents of Stillborn children. Heartfelt photographer Adrienne, beautifully captured the precious moments we had with Azalea and we are grateful for this free service that will be instrumental in beginning the healing process. Please do not feel obliged to give, but if you were planning on sending flowers, gifts or cards we would prefer a donation be made instead to help other families in a similar situation
