- Grace BotterillGerry managed my crew at Hume CIU in late 2016/early 2017. I recall that not long into managing the crew, I was assigned an unusual coronial investigation. I recall Gerry's passion in relation to that file. Both quiet sorts of workers, we both spent months pounding the pavement, and looking into every strange nook and cranny we could to get to the truth of the matter. As recently as three months ago, he was sending me emails about this file as it was something he hadn't forgotten about when he went into town. A beautiful, gentle and diligent man in all respects with his Chewie ring tone going off all day long18th June, 2024

- Sharon TyrerAll my sympathy to Gerry’s family. Gerry was an amazing man, full of so much fun. I will always remember him practicing his karate on me at Woolton Ave, and of course, keeping his katana under the bed in case of intruders! He was a great housemate and an absolute gentleman. He always had a smile for my dog’s antics, even when she pulled his shirts off the clothes line, and was the first person to offer to help whenever any of the numerous drop-ins needed a sympathetic ear. My heart goes out to Keeley, Sharon and all Gerry’s family.

Gerry was a big part of my life in my 20s and he will always hold a special place in my heart. Sharon & Keely - I am so sorry for your loss. Gerry was a great guy, and I reckon a pretty good hubby too. Keely - your Dad was awesome. - Natalie and Alex NUCCII am forever grateful to have meet Gerry when working at Crime Command. All the knowledge that I have on FPOs, I attribute to him. He always had time for me and taught me so much. He was a quirky man, who enjoyed a good GIF as much as I did, and I have referred to my 'elephant stamp' he gave me multiple times since his passing. Thank you Gerry for your kindness, diligence and positive attitude. We will miss you immensely. 17th June, 2024

- Stephanie AttardRIP Gerry, I still can't believe you're no longer with us. I hope you're resting in a better place. Thanks for all the work memories along the way, you definitely made me laugh after some very long delirious hours at warrants. My deepest condolences go out to your family. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. 17th June, 2024
- John O’HARAI knew Gerry through work. He was a quiet man and kept to himself. He would sign off his emails with thumbnails of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the terminator holding his thumbs up. He made me laugh. In the last few months I reached out to him on several occasions and passed on my wishful thoughts. For the short time he spent at the Broadmeadows police station he made a big impact. Hopefully he is at peace now and satisfied that he lived a good life surrounded by people who loved him. I wish his family all the best in the future knowing that Gerry was very liked and thought of fondly. Regards J O’HARA.16th June, 2024
- Gary DEANGerry, you were a good friend who always popped into my life when needed over the years. 22 years is a long time to know someone. There is a void in my life now, but I am better to have known someone like you. My condolences to your family.
R.I.P Gerry, my blue brother forever and squad mate forever. 16th June, 2024
